I received a call from the BBC to make this segment for their TV show Medical Miracles. The segment features someone who, as a child, had half of her brain removed — a hemispherectomy. This is a rare neurosurgical procedure in which a cerebral hemisphere (half of the brain) is removed, disconnected, or disabled. The reasons why it’s done and the results are both amazing.
